Richmond y Ronda

After arriving in Ronda in 1954, at the urging of David Bomberg, Richmond was captivated by its raw natural power and how Ronda’s modern life seemed to exist seamlessly alongside its ancient past. For the next 25 years, he lived there, raising his family and teaching at the International School in Seville with Harry Thubron and Alistair Boyd. While he sometimes returned to London for various teaching jobs, on his return, he stole every waking hour he could painting throughout the Serrania de Ronda, often accompanied only by his donkey.
